Of course the Dutch are proud of their windmills, tulips and cheeses. But did you know Holland is actually one of the leading markets worldwide when it comes to social media? More than 90% of the Dutch households are connected to the internet and you can find 75% of the population on Facebook, twitter and other social networks.

These impressive numbers make Holland a perfect test bed for new social media platforms and applications. The Dutch government invited 8 companies with international experience and ambition to showcase what Holland and the social media industry has to offer at the Social Media World Forum in New York City.

On average a global citizen spends 4,5 hours a week on social networks like Facebook, twitter and newbie Google+. But that's nothing for the Dutch: this crowd spends more than 104 minutes a day on social platforms. Now that's over 12 hours a week!

In this innovative market many Dutch companies contribute to the fact that the Dutch are spending a big chunck of their time on social media. Whether we are talking about PR and social media, an online music community or CRM solutions, the high-end social media market in The Netherlands recognizes a great diversity and is proud to present this to the transatlantic market.

Please be invited to visit the Holland Match Point (booth 41-44) for your Dutch bit and bite on social media and learn more about the social media pioneers setting foot on New York soil this week: Hinttech, The SelfService Company, CHAINels, Tribe of Noise, Gravity Zoo, L&DJ and Refresh Interactive.
